Las Vegas Raiders star running back Josh Jacobs has been away from the team the entire offseason and did not report to preseason camp after he and the team failed to reach an agreement on a long-term contract. But it looks like he will be rejoining the team before the season – but that doesn’t mean he’ll be ready to play.
According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Josh Jacobs is expected to return to the team before the season opener, but there’s some doubt about whether or not he’ll be physically ready to play before the start of the regular season.
“Running back Josh Jacobs is expected to report to the Raiders before their season opener in three weeks, multiple league sources have indicated,” Bonsignore wrote of the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Monday.
“But with only a few practices remaining before the club takes the field against the Broncos on Sept. 10, time is running out for Jacobs to be fully prepared for the rigors of an NFL game.”
Whether he’ll be ready by Week One or not, it’s a pretty big update for one of the top running backs in the league, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

Good effort by the RBs but in the end, they’re all gonna play after all… JT will be with the team in Philly next week. https://t.co/JKpJydJBTb

We’ll have to see when Jacobs actually returns to the field.
